Auditor of State candidate Seth Morgan, CPA was endorsed by the Cuyahoga County Republican Party on Tuesday, March 2.

“Seth Morgan is the most qualified candidate of either party for Auditor of State,” said Rob Scott, Friends of Seth Morgan Communications Director. “Cuyahoga’s endorsement solidifies Seth’s support across Ohio.”

During the endorsement meeting, former Ohio Republican Chairman Bob Bennett moved to endorse both Auditor of State candidates Seth Morgan, CPA and Dave Yost which was promptly struck down. Immediately after, the Cuyahoga County Republican Central Committee endorsed Seth Morgan overwhelmingly for Auditor of State.

It is important to note that out of a 600 member committee, only 160 members (27%) voted tonight. I’m surprised that counts as quorum, but it does.

I am proud to say that I am a county co-chair of Seth Morgan's campaign and that the party establishment via Bob Bennett could not stop this!

Hats off to the rank and file conservatives that smacked down Bob Bennett and Rob Frost's motions.
  • fair enough. I admire your passion for Rep. Morgan.

    Matt,
Don't know where you got your info about the size of the crowd, but I have it on good authority that the room was packed and that there were far more than 160 members of the Central Committee on hand.

I heard Morgan won the endorsement 98 to 51 (or numbers very close). That puts it just shy of the 160 Matt reported.
