Seth Morgan Wins Summit County Straw Poll
From Seth Morgan’s campaign:
Huber Heights, Ohio – Seth Morgan, CPA received 66 percent of the vote in a Summit County Republican Party straw poll taken on Saturday for Auditor of State. More than 1,000 were in attendance to vote between Auditor of State candidate’s Seth Morgan and Dave Yost at the Summit County GOP event.
“Seth Seth Morgan clearly is the most qualified for Auditor of State. He continues to show that the people are with him. The Summit County straw poll is one of many examples of this,,” said Rob Scott, Communications Director for Friends of Seth Morgan. “The people are saying again and again they want Seth Morgan as their next auditor.”
And here is Dave Yost’s response to Morgan’s initial unanimous Summit County Endorsement:
The Summit County screening was scheduled during working hours yesterday, when I was scheduled to be in court for the sentencing of a public official I had successfully prosecuted. The Summit County Chairman proceeded with his process anyway, despite knowing I could not participate. He had previously personally endorsed my opponent. Summit County is widely regarded as one of the last true “machine” counties in the state, and there was no doubt that the fix was in.
As a county auditor and prosecutor, I have a track record of auditing, catching, and prosecuting public officials. It is exactly that experience – and not some rubber-stamped endorsement – that makes me the best candidate to follow Mary Taylor as our next Auditor of State. I was proudly fulfilling my duties defending the public trust yesterday in an Athens courtroom instead of playing party politics in a backroom in Akron.
I’ve won endorsements all over the state, including from the Ohio Republican Party State Central Committee – the same committee that endorsed John Kasich, Mary Taylor, Jon Husted, and Rob Portman. Why the Summit County Chairman has taken aim at them is his business. It’s also old news.
Do you know who else likes the Summit County GOP and Alex Arshinkoff? Ken Blackwell.
