Ken Blackwell Discusses Michael Steele on Good Morning America

April 6th, 2010 Matt View Comments

I’m so glad Mr. Blackwell is speaking out…. RNC Chairman Steele was the least conservative candidate running for chairman and he has always been a race-baiting clown, dating back to his willingness to pull out his stupid Oreo cookie story at the drop of a hat:

Lissssss Smith Loves Me

April 5th, 2010 Matt Comments off

After an impressive career as a child actor working as Fred Savage’s love interest, Ted Strickland’s new Spokesbabe Lis Smith is now copying my Twitter posts. Be still, my beating heart!

Ken Blackwell does have a new book coming out, and I hope it sells better than John Kasich’s… considering that it was high on the New York Times’ Best Seller’s list!

But this is perhaps why Lis is put out front to look pretty and respond to what I say with gentle zingers… While Sandy Theis is in her dungeon torturing Republicans while breaking their legs in dozens of creative ways… or is in a graveyard at 2am burying bodies.

So what’s my next move here? Do I invite Lis out for coffee, or is that too obvious?

This Is Apparently the Week to Get Endorsed by Ken Blackwell…

March 12th, 2010 Matt Comments off

After endorsing Dave Yost on Wednesday, Ken Blackwell endorses Bob Gibbs for Congress today:

Former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell today announced his endorsement of Bob Gibbs in his bid to unseat Zack Space in Ohio’s 18th Congressional District.

“In Washington, Bob Gibbs will fight against wasteful spending and stand up for our conservative values,” Blackwell said.  “Throughout his public career, Bob has been a staunch defender of the unborn, second amendment rights and fiscally conservative solutions. He has consistently walked the conservative talk. And I proudly support his candidacy for Congress.”

Gibbs co-authored the legislation reducing Ohio’s personal income tax rates by 21%, the largest tax cut in Ohio history.  He also introduced a measure in the Ohio Senate to urge Congress to stop the “Card Check” legislation, the unfair measure of eliminating the secret ballot for employees wishing to recognize an Employees Union.

“Voters in the 18th District have had it with Zack Space,” said Gibbs. “The question now is who we will pit against him in the general election.  I’m the candidate who can draw the strongest contrast to Space, because I’m not just talking about what I will do – I have a record of what I have done to reduce the tax burden on Ohio families, and fighting for the conservative cause.”

Gibbs is also endorsed by Ohio House Minority Leader Bill Batchelder, Ohio Congressman John Boehner, and dozens of other conservative legislators, local elected officials, and Republican Party Leaders.

I think Ken Blackwell’s endorsement matters a lot in the conservative movement. Blackwell rarely endorses, but was willing to stick his neck out this week for two conservative Ohio candidates.

BUT, not only was that income tax reduction just retroactively rolled-back by Gov. Strickland, Team Gibbs sounds almost as off message as Jon Husted by implying how principled the GOP was when they controlled the Ohio House and Bob Taft was in office. Ken Blackwell may have a few things to say about that…

Ken Blackwell Endorses Dave Yost for Auditor

March 10th, 2010 Matt Comments off

Ken Blackwell, my friend, mentor and reason I got involved in state politics, has endorsed Dave Yost for Auditor:

Ken Blackwell today endorsed Prosecutor Dave Yost for Auditor of State.

“Dave Yost is one of us — a man of integrity who shares and lives our values and convictions,” Blackwell said. “He knows that the government is reaching too far into our lives and too far into our pockets – and with his record and his experience, he has the tools he needs to fight for us.”

Blackwell is an icon among Ohio social conservatives and has often been the standard-bearer for people disaffected with the moderate wing of the Republican Party. “Ken Blackwell, like Barry Goldwater, was conservative long before it was cool to be conservative,” said Gene Pierce, a conservative political analyst. “Like Ken, Dave is pro-smaller government, pro-life, pro-family and pro-tax cuts. There should be no argument from Ohio Republicans about Dave’s heartfelt commitment to a conservative platform of government.”

Blackwell won the Statewide Republican Primary for Governor in 2006. “Ken anticipated and led the ‘No More RINOs’ movement,” Pierce added. “His endorsement will speak volumes in this primary, when people want true conservative leadership.”

Prosecutor Yost welcomed the endorsement. “I’ve known Ken Blackwell for years, and he does not speak lightly, or for the sake of convenience – he’s always about what he believes to be right. I am humbled and honored to have his strong support.”

Ken Blackwell is the most conservative candidate Ohio has ever had for Governor, and is now a major force within the national conservative movement.

Jennifer Brunner Embarassed By The “Hateful” Ohioans Who Voted to Defend Traditional Marriage in 2004

September 6th, 2009 Matt View Comments

According to JennyBenny, Ohio is actually very liberal, and you (yes, YOU!) SUPPORT “gay marriage,” but Ken Blackwell & evil Republican operatives tricked you in 2004.

The video is from Progress Ohio’s Candlelight Vigil for Buggery, where Jennifer received an award for endorsing further erosion of private-property rights:

Sooooooo just what hate is she talking about?

And what “faction?” The entire Ohio GOP establishment, Jim Petro, George Voinovich, and Mike DeWine opposed it. If this was just about politics, then why was the Ohio Republican Party actively campaigning AGAINST the interests of President Bush? If there was a faction, they could have met in a phone booth because it was Ken Blackwell by himself, standing on principle.

Also, isn’t comforting that 1 of the 3 potential replacements for Sen. Voinovich is happy to use the military as some sort of large-scale sociology project, instead of deferring to military commanders who actually know what they are talking about?

At this point, I would normally conclude by mentioning Jennifer Brunner’s work as the office manager for then-Secretary of State Sherrod Brown, where she turned a blind eye to an inner-office drug ring. But I’ll pass on that topic for now, because it might sound “hateful.”

More on Ted Kennedy

August 29th, 2009 Matt Comments off

Ken Blackwell on National Review spoils this sickening media lovefest of a philandering murderer:

We should pass Obamacare as a tribute to the Senate’s liberal lion, they tell us. And Ted Kennedy was the most liberal of the lions. He challenged President Carter from the far-left wing of a left-liberal party. He demanded taxpayer funding of abortion. He opposed low-income parents’ choosing safe and effective schools for their kids. He fought welfare reform — a reform that affirmed dignity, marriage, and work. He degraded the process of judicial confirmation, mauling Robert Bork and every constitutionalist nominee since. He fought to end true marriage — and marriage, not welfare, is the greatest boon to the poor. If we do pass Obamacare, it will achieve Ted Kennedy’s cherished goal of a government of the liberals, by the liberals, and for the liberals. If it’s lions versus Christians, I’ll stand with the Christians.

And I saw on another Ohio liberal blog that Kennedy was the leader of the anti-Reagan movement during the 1980s. This I do not deny, as Kennedy was so eager to politically harm President Reagan that he was willing to become a traitor and worked with Yuri Vladimirovich Andropov, who served as the General Secretary of the Communist Party in the Soviet Union.

Also, Buckeye State Blog has no reason to be upset about Ohio Sen. Tim Grendell’s comments about Chappaquiddick. Apparently, Sen. Kennedy LOVED joking about the situation:

And maybe Mary Jo Kopechne would think Kennedy was worth dying for.

Ken Blackwell vs. HuffPo

July 9th, 2009 Matt Comments off

Ken Blackwell takes on the Huffington Post in his column today, for their incredibly offensive jokes about Sarah Palin’s family. Check it out here.

He applauds the efforts of the Kennedy family for their support of the Special Olympics, but didn’t mentioned its rarely discussed origin: Eunice Kennedy Shriver started the Special Olympics, and she did so after her sister Rosemary- who was a normal, healthy young woman- was no longer so after their father Joseph Kennedy had her lobotomized at age 23.

Ken Blackwell Appointed co-chairman of RNC Redistricting Committee

This is good news, as Ken Blackwell can offer his expertise to Republicans, after ACORN’s the US Census Bureau’s work is completed and new districts will need to be drawn.

Perhaps Stephen Koff didn’t get the memo from Connie Shultz about the unbiased & objective nature of the Plain Dealer, considering his vague, snarky last sentence.
