Elyria, Ohio is on the Map

My friend Ray Noble, who I worked with at the Lorain County Prosecutor’s office during a summer internship, was on CBS News reacting to the State of the Union address last night. I thought I should post the video, and thereby double the number of people who actually watched this Katie Couric segment:

The mention of Elyria during the State of the Union was the only part I enjoyed. Why? Because non-locals have a difficult time pronouncing it correctly. President Obama even took a long pause before reading it off the teleprompter at Lorain County Community College.

So America, in case you missed it, it is pronounced “Ee-lear-rea-a,” not “Eh-lie-ree-a.” This has been a public service announcement. Thank you for your attention.
